Russell George Irish

Russell George Irish, age 76, resident of Moscow, Tennessee and husband of Mary Irish, departed this life Tuesday morning, June 26, 2018 at his residence.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Irish was at 11 A.M. Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Moscow United Methodist Church. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Irish was born November 23, 1941 in Stacyville, Maine. He received his education in Corinna, Maine and was employed as a supervising manufacturing manager at Eastland Woolen Mill for a number of years. He was most recently a resident of the Moscow, Tennessee area and was a member of the Moscow United Methodist Church. Mr. Irish was married August 29, 1981 to the former Mary Towle and he enjoyed outdoor activities that included hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping and bluegrass festivals.

Mr. Irish is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary Towle Irish of Moscow, TN; his stepdaughter, Valerie Monismith (Gregory) of Germantown, TN; his stepson, Peter Metivier of Fort McCoy, FL; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Emily Irish Frank and George Frank; his sister, Madaline Buzzell; and his brother, Gaylon Irish.
