Ruth (McKnight) Riddle

Ruth McKnight Riddle, age 89, resident of Oakland and wife of the late Jim Riddle, departed this life Monday afternoon, May 22, 2017 at her residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Riddle were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Chaplain Holly Pederson with Crossroads Hospice, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Riddle was born May 20, 1928 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi. She was married April 16, 1944 to Jim Riddle and she was a member of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene. She was employed as a cook at the Calvary Daycare before retiring and she enjoyed sewing, doing crossword puzzles and was an avid University of Memphis basketball fan. Mrs. Riddle’s life revolved around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Riddle is survived by two daughters, Mary Yates (Doyle) of Oakland, TN, Rita Schiavone (Tony) of Fort Worth, TX; her daughter-in-law, Jan Riddle of Hernando, MS; her sister-in-law, Violet Jo McKnight; three grandchildren, Angela Munoz (David) of Oakland, TN, Wesley Riddle (Jackie) of Hernando, MS, Nikki Kirby (David) of Hernando, MS; seven great-grandchildren, Jaxon Riddle, David Munoz III, James Munoz, Skye Kirby, Emma Kirby, Angelina Riddle; Haley Riddle; and her caretaker, Susan Steele of Somerville, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Riddle, who died June 20, 2013; her son, John Steven Riddle who died May 15, 2007; her parents, Robert Floyd McKnight, Sr. and Nettie Belle Clowers McKnight; three sisters, Vara Glisson, Virginia Ann Brooks, Ann Howard Grisham; and two brothers, Robert Floyd McKnight, Jr. and Charles William McKnight.
