Samuel Marvin Pierce, Jr., age 48, resident of Millington, departed this life Friday evening, December 30, 2016 at his residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Pierce were conducted at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Dr. Kenneth Culver, pastor of the Warren Community Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasants Cemetery at Rossville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Pierce was born October 5, 1968 in Somerville, Tennessee. He received his education at Fayette Ware High School and was employed as an HVAC technician for a number of years. Mr. Pierce enjoyed preparing food, bowling, playing darts and special times with his family members and friends.

Mr. Pierce is survived by his son, Shawn Mitchell Pierce of Somerville, TN; three brothers, Steven Lee Pierce of Drummonds, TN, William Shane Pierce (Stacie) of Bartlett, TN, John Thomas Spicer of Munford, TN; his parents, Samuel Marvin Pierce, Sr. of Como, MS, Patsy Bobbitt Gladish of Munford, TN; four step-brothers, Jim Vance Bennett (Penny) of Sand Springs, OK, Scott Wayne Bennett of Brighton, TN, Terry Wayne Gladish of Waynesboro, TN, Brian Keith Gladish of Hornsby, TN; his step-sister, Brandi Nichole Gladish of Jackson, TN; and his fiancée, Tabitha Beckham.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Danny Rayford, Mike Bateman, Johnny Bateman, Rocky Blaylock, Barry Byrd, Benny Scaife, Clifford English and David Pierce. Honorary pallbearers were Harry Roberson, Ron Brooks and Eddie Rogers.
