SANDRA “SANDY” WHITE
1959—2010
SANDRA ELLEN MANZ WHITE, resident of the Bartlett Community with family members in Fayette County and wife of the late Robert Bennett White, Jr. died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at her residence. She was 50 years of age and died following an extended illness.
A Service of Remembrance for Mrs. White was conducted at 10 A.M. Friday, July 9th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Loyd Shelton, Baptist minister of Rossville, officiating. Interment will be private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. White was born September 5, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Rose Misevicz Manz and the late Joseph B. Manz.
As a young person she attended Chicago Public Schools and at the age of 10 she moved with her family to Memphis where she graduated from High School and College.
Mrs. White was of the Methodist faith and was married October 19, 1983 to Robert Bennett White, Jr., employee of the Gateway Tire and Auto Service in Memphis, before his death on November 21, 2009.
Mrs. White will be remembered for her love of animals and art. Before her illness she created art for the Ringling Brothers Circus Programs and for circus advertisements. Her interests included reading and gardening.
Mrs. White is survived by her mother, Rose Misevicz Manz of Springville, TN, three sisters: Nancy Ann Haynes (Ray) of Springville, TN, Linda Susan Halterman of Tucson, AZ , Donna Marie Updegraff of Alexandria, IN and her mother-in-law, Nona White of the Hickory Withe Community. She also leaves her beloved canine pets, Penny and Gina.
