Sandra "Sandy" (Bryan) Morris

Sandra “Sandy” Bryan Morris, age 71, resident of Oakland and wife of James Morris, departed this life Saturday afternoon, May 26, 2018 at her residence.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Morris were conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Bryan Morris officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Morris was born December 6, 1946 in Dyersburg, Tennessee. She was a graduate of Dyersburg High School and was married November 24, 1965 to James Morris. She moved to the Oakland area and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oakland. Mrs. Morris enjoyed writing, playing dominoes, preparing food and watching Memphis Grizzlies Basketball and Memphis Tigers Basketball. She will be remembered for being a generous, thoughtful person who loved the special times she had with her grandchildren and helping others in their time of need and for being an “extreme couponer”.

Mrs. Morris is survived by her husband of 52 years, James Morris of Oakland, TN; her daughter, Christy Rye (Brian) of Bartlett, TN; her son, Bryan Morris (Rachel) of Moscow, TN; two sisters, Cherry Robertson (George) of Dyersburg, TN, Patsy Bates (Earl) of Middleton, TN; and four grandchildren, Hunter Morris, Bailey Morris, Tanner Rye and Kendall Morris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Bryan and Gladys “Elease” Lanier Bryan and two brothers, Eddie Bryan and Jerry Bryan.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Hunter Morris, Brian Rye, Earl Bates, Kevin Budde, Eric Martin and Jeremy Bowen. Honorary pallbearers included Tanner Rye.
