SHAWN THOMAS COPE, a resident of Sacramento, California and former resident of Fayette County died Friday, October 23, 2009 in Sacramento, where he had resided for a number of years. He was 24 years of age and died unexpectedly.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Cope were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, November 7th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Jim Whitley, Pastor of the Liberty Baptist Church in Somerville, officiating. A special poem reading was presented by Mr. Cope's sister, Miranda Wardlow. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
Mr. Cope was born May 2, 1985 in San Diego, California and in earlier years was a resident of Fayette County before returning to California.
He was a Christian and was a self-employed handyman in the Sacramento area before his death.
Survivors of Mr. Cope include his son, Shawn Thomas Cope, Jr. of Sacramento, California; his mother, Sherry Stanley Rowe (Dennis) of Moscow; his father, Mark Cope of Nashville; two sisters, Crystal Diazupton of Sacramento, CA and Miranda Wardlow of Somerville; two brothers, Joseph Stanley of Fairfield, CA and Dennis Rowe, Jr. of Moscow; his grandparents, Wilda Wilson of Somerville and Pauline and Al Rowe of Kingman, AR and his great-grandmother, Edith Woods of Somerville.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
