Sherman Ed Jumper

November 23, 1940 — January 7, 2012

Sherman Ed Jumper, Hickory Withe resident, retired Broadcaster for WMC Channel 5 and independent insurance agent, and husband of Peggy Jumper died Saturday evening, January 7, 2012 at his residence. He was 71 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Jumper were conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, January 11th at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Richard Hipps of the Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — West Chapel of Oakland.

Mr. Jumper was born November 23, 1940 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Col. Ed Jumper and Rachell Bernice Dacus Jumper. He received his education in the Jonesboro, Arkansas Public School System and later attended Arkansas State University.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Jumper is survived by his son, John Sherman Jumper of Hickory Withe; his sister, Linda Sue DeLoach of Springfield, MO; and his brother, Lowell Steven Jumper of Little Rock, AR.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were family members and friends.
