Sherry (Benson) Baillio
March 22, 1958 — July 4, 2013
Sherry Benson Baillio, resident of Cordova and sister of Jamie Benson of the Williston Community departed this life Thursday evening, July 4, 2013. She was 55 years of age and died from injuries received in a one vehicle accident that occurred in Memphis.
Services of Remembrance for Ms. Baillio were conducted at 3 P.M. Monday, July 8th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Pastor Jeff Roach of the Hope Presbyterian Church in Cordova officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Ms. Baillio was born March 22, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Frank G. Benson, Sr. and Homerlene Kerley Benson. She was a former resident of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas and had been a resident of Memphis since 1975. She was employed as a cosmetologist and hairstylist in the Memphis area for a number of years and later became a sales and marketing consultant for the Security Alert Company in Memphis.
Ms. Baillio was a Christian and attended the Hope Presbyterian Church in Cordova. She will be remembered as a big-hearted individual who had a love for family members and animals. She enjoyed outdoor activities and in earlier years was a motorcycle enthusiast. A family-oriented person, she had a special love for her cousins that she considered extended sisters and brothers.
Ms. Baillio is survived by her children’s father, Steve Baillio of Memphis; two daughters, Mandi Hamilton of Memphis, Chrissy Baillio of Knoxville, TN; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank G. Benson, Sr. of Memphis; two brothers, Frank Benson, Jr. of Memphis, Jamie Benson of Williston; her grandson, Ty Hamilton of Memphis; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Steve Baillio, Ty Hamilton, Chanc Benson, Elliott Copen, Mike Waddell and Lee Waddell.
