Sherry Martin
1952—2011
Sherry Stone Martin, resident of the Memphis Community with extended family members in Fayette County and wife of Harold E. Martin went home to be with the Lord at her residence on Sunday morning, May 8, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. She was 58 years old.
Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Martin were conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, May 11 th in the Pollard Chapel of Bellevue Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Sorrell, officiating. A private family interment followed in the Elmwood Cemetery at Memphis. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville.

rs. Martin was born August 9, 1952 in Memphis, TN. She was the daughter of the former Billie Smith Stone and the late Herman E. Stone.
Mrs. Martin was a graduate of Hillcrest High School in Memphis and she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Mississippi. She was a gifted artist and loved to share her talents with her friends and family. Mrs. Martin treasured her relationship with Jesus Christ and lived to follow Him and to serve others. If she knew you, she was praying for you, helping you and encouraging you.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband: Harold “Bo” Martin, who cherishes God’s gift of thirty years with his faithful partner and friend; her mother: Billie Stone Fortas of Memphis; a son: Jeff Martin, his wife Audra and their daughters, Sydney, Cameron and Presley; a daughter: Lisa Martin Monroe, her husband Randy and their daughter Sadie; an aunt: Kathleen Swanson of Bruce, MS; special cousins: Natalie Akers and Mitzi Ward of Pontotoc, MS, Bill Bunt and Jim Bunt of Memphis and extended family members in Fayette County.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her father, Herman E. Stone and stepfather, Milton B. Fortas.
