Shirley Ann (Glover) Ragghianti

February 3, 1943 — April 28, 2013

Shirley Ann Glover Thomas Ragghianti, resident of Grand Junction, Colorado, former resident of the Somerville Community and wife of the late Ronald (Ronnie) Ragghianti departed this life Sunday morning, April 28, 2013 at her residence in Colorado. She was 70 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Ragghianti were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, May 3rd at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Granville Watson, pastor of the Grand Junction First Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Ragghianti was born February 3, 1943 in Somerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Malcolm Glover and Maude Irene Harvey Glover. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and continued her education at the Memphis State University and State Tech in Memphis.

She had been employed for much of her life as a graphic designer at the Fayette Falcon newspaper, Memphis Engraving Company and the Bartlett Express. She was a resident of Fayette County for much of her life before moving to Grand Junction, Colorado in 2010 to be near her family. She was of the Baptist faith and was married October 20, 1996 to Ronald Anthony Ragghianti, a Shelby County detective, who preceded her in death on May 27, 2008. Ceramics, arts, crafts and reading were favorite pastimes. Mrs. Ragghianti also enjoyed walking and exercising throughout her life.

Mrs. Ragghianti is survived by two daughters, Cindy Thomas of Grand Junction, CO, Leanne Thomas of Denver, CO; her sister, Peggy Bryson of Somerville; her brother, Dennis Glover of Largo, FL; her granddaughter, Latisha Dunham of Grand Junction, CO; and three great grandchildren, Kaleb Neigenfind, Andrew Dunham and Aleesha Dunham.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Bobby Glover, Herbert Glover, L.C. Glover, Ken Lamar, Mike McCaskill and Tommy Glover.
Honorary casketbearers were Bill Kelley, Vernon Glover and Tommy McCaskill.
