Shirley Jane (Gross) Wade

Shirley Jane Gross Wade, age 75, resident of Moscow, Tennessee and wife of the late Russell Wade, departed this life Saturday morning, December 8, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville, Tennessee.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Wade was held at 11 A.M. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Wint Fox, pastor of Piperton Baptist Church, officiating. Interment followed in Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery in Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel in Somerville.

Shirley was born February 23, 1943 in Haynes, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Albert Gross and the late Bertha Alexander Coleman. She moved with her family at an early age to the Memphis area and was a graduate of Messick High School. She was employed as a sales clerk at Wal-Mart for many years and was most recently a resident of the Moscow area. Shirley was married June 12, 1971 to Russell Randolph Wade who preceded her in death on March 19, 2003. She attended Piperton Baptist Church and enjoyed shopping, cooking, watching Hallmark movies, and special times with her family members.

Known to her family as “NaNa”, Mrs. Wade is survived by three sisters, Connie Dunivan (James) of Arlington, TN, Kathy Coleman of Moscow, TN, Martha Castro of Moscow, TN; one step-daughter, two step-grandchildren, Amy Yarber-Bowers, Neva Carpenter; and five step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one step-daughter, one step-son and one step-grandson.
