Stella Jane Hendry
December 14, 1924 — December 1, 2016
Stella J. Hendry passed away after an extended illness. Born near Ithaca, MI, in 1924, she completed training as a Registered Nurse at Henry Ford Hospital in 1947.
She enjoyed nearly 45 years of happy marriage to Dr. William W. Hendry, until his passing in 1994. She was a devoted wife and mother, while maintaining a nursing career spanning 42 years. Stella moved to Memphis 22 years ago to be near family. She was a longtime member of Bellevue Baptist Church, and current member of Collierville First Baptist Church.
Stella is survived by two sons and their wives: Reverend Dr. William W. Hendry II and his wife Terry Hendry, and Robert L. Hendry and his wife Tracy Hendry. She has 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Stella’s greatest wish is for all people to have a personal, loving relationship with Jesus Christ.
Memorial Services for Mrs. Hendry were conducted at 6:30 P.M. Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the Collierville First Baptist Church. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
