Robert Steven “Steve” Aiken, age 62, resident of Oakland and husband of Loy Moss Aiken, departed this life Monday, July 3, 2017 at his residence.
"Tee Time" for Mr. Aiken was conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Peebles West Chapel Funeral Chapel at Oakland. A Private Interment will be at a later date at Union Cemetery in Brownsville, Tennessee. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Aiken was born August 30, 1954 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Pickens High School in South Carolina, Class of 1972 and served his country in the United States Army as a young person. He was married May 28, 1983 to the former Loy Moss and was employed as a master technician at Bayird Chevrolet in Covington, Tennessee. Mr. Aiken enjoyed golfing and cooking. He loved all sports, especially football.
Mr. Aiken is survived by his wife of 34 years, Loy Moss Aiken of Oakland, TN; his daughter, Natalie Kyle Kinney (Jonathan) of Red Banks, MS; his brother, Bruce “Skip” Edward (Debi) of Pelzer, SC; and two grandchildren, Josie Hayden Kinney and Tripp Harrison Kinney of Red Banks, MS.
Mr. Aiken was very close to his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, mother-in-law, nieces and nephews and considered them to be part of his own family.
He was preceded by his parents, James Edward Aiken and Johnnie Ruth Payton Aiken Hudson.
