Tammy Alisa Cocke, age 54, resident of Somerville, departed this life Tuesday morning, November 22, 2016 at the Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.
Services of Remembrance for Miss Cocke were conducted at 1 P.M. on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Vip Lewis, officiating. Interment followed in the Macon Cemetery in the Macon Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel.
Miss Cocke was born April 20, 1962 in Somerville, Tennessee. She received her education in the Fayette County school system, graduated from Fayette Academy and also attended Memphis State University for two years. She was a lifelong resident of Fayette County. Miss Cocke attended Macon Church of Christ and Mt. Tabor Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed sending cards, flowers and spending time with her family and friends, telling and writing stories, listening to all kinds of music, singing and reading books. She also collected Hello Kitty memorabilia.
Miss Cocke is survived by her parents, James Bruce and Marjorie Cocke of Somerville, TN; her sister, Julie Cocke Barron (William) of Williston, TN, her nephew, Blake Barron and several cousins, Teresa Ljunggren, Erin Hancock, Justin Hancock and Megan Ljunggren who looked to her as their second mom.
The family requests that memorials be directed to American Cancer Society, Christine Parks, 402 Midland Street, Somerville, TN 38068 and American Heart Association, 2170 Business Center Drive 1, Bartlett, TN 38134.
