TERRY GENE PICKARD, resident of Fayette County and Memphis Tow Truck Operator died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Delta Medical Center in Memphis. He was 47 years of age and died following a sudden illness.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Pickard were conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, August 23 rd at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel in Oakland with Bro. Mitch Tibbets of Memphis officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park on U.S. Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
A native of Shelby County, Mr. Pickard was born February 22, 1964 in Memphis to the late Pauline Woods Pickard and Elbert Terry Pickard of Munford, who survives. Mr. Pickard was educated in the Fayette and Tipton County School Systems and married November 30, 1990 to the former Jennifer Craig of Fayette County, who survives.
He worked at Maces Towing in Memphis as a tow truck operator and was a Christian. Known for being a family oriented person, Mr. Pickard will be remembered for enjoying science fiction movies.
In addition to his wife and his father, Mr. Pickard is survived by his son, Terry Robert “Robbie” Pickard of Somerville; his granddaughter, Rayna Craig of Memphis; his stepson, Cody Craig of Memphis; and his brother, Kevin Pickard of Hernando, MS.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were his family and friends.
