Thelma Wright (Wright) Clements

May 18, 1926 — November 11, 2016

Thelma Estelle Wright Clements, age 90, lifelong resident of the Somerville Community and wife of the late Dan Ellis Clements, departed this life Friday evening, November 11, 2016 at the Rainbow Health & Rehabilitation Center in Bartlett.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Clements were conducted at 10 A.M. Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Somerville Church of Christ with Al Helm officiating. The eulogy was given by Jimmy Clements and congregational singing by Brian Manning. Interment followed in the Spring Hill Cemetery at Laconia. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Clements was born May 18, 1926 in Somerville. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was married in 1943 to Dan Ellis Clements. She was employed as a production worker at Kilgore in Toone, Tennessee, Pace Corporation in Walls, Mississippi and Security Signals in Oakland, Tennessee before her retirement. Mrs. Clements was a member of the Somerville Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening, preparing food and special times with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Clements is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Jean Jenkins (Harold) of Bowling Green, KY; three sons, Jimmy Dale Clements (Patricia) of Somerville, TN, Jerry Glenn Clements (Wanda) of Somerville, TN, David Wayne Clements of Somerville, TN; eight grandchildren, Mark Clements, Dana Joyner, Kevin Clements, Brian Clements, Amy Clements, Brandy Clements, April Clements, Sarah Clements; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Ellis Clements; her parents, William Onnie Wright and Reedie Rose Wright; her sister, Ethel May Hardy Wright; her brother, William Elmer “Son” Wright; and two grandchildren, Jimmy Wayne Clements and Michael Clements.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Mark Clements, Kevin Clements, Brian Clements, Wesley Joyner, Larry Luttrell, Chuck Nance and Butch Glover.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Spring Hill Cemetery Association, c/o Jimmy Clements, 7945 Old Jackson Road, Somerville, TN 38068.
