Thelma Leona Watson Jackson, age 78, resident of Mason, Tennessee and wife of the late Donnie Ray Carpenter, Sr. and the late Melvin Jackson, departed this life Thursday morning, January 14, 2021 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
Thelma was born September 3, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late James Watson and Eddie Bell Bounds Watson. She was a member of The Cowboy Church in Mason, Tennessee and was a hard worker at many jobs. She enjoyed cooking for the church, watching hummingbirds and country road trips.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her three daughters, Lisa Taylor (Tracy) of Cape Coral, FL, Tracy Lynn Carpenter of Mason, TN, and Harriet “Paulette” Jackson (Thomas “Bubba”) of Stanton, TN; four sons, Donnie Ray Carpenter, Jr. (Denise) of Mechanicsburg, OH, Robert Eugene Carpenter of Mason, TN, Jerrel Dewayne Carpenter (Teresa) of Winter Gardens, FL and Marc Leis (Tammy) of South Carolina; her brother, James Thomas Watson (Joyce) of Olive Branch, MS; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and her adopted son, Eddie Waddell (Delphinia) of Mason, TN.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Jackson were private. Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Jeff Craft, James Simmons, Jackson Craft, Joseph Bryan, Thomas Jackson III and Jackson Hazlerig.
