Thelma I. (Bryan) Johnson

February 27, 1932 — December 5, 2014

Thelma I. Bryan Johnson, age 82, resident of Henderson and wife of the late Travis Johnson, departed this life Friday morning, December 5, 2014 at her residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Johnson were conducted at 11 A.M. Monday, December 8th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Mike Cothren, pastor of the House of Prayer in Henderson, officiating. Interment followed in the Magnolia Cemetery at Collierville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Johnson was born February 27, 1932 in Shelby County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Granville Perry Bryan and Lula M. Williams Bryan. She received her education at Collierville High School and was married November 21, 1945 to Travis Johnson. Mr. Johnson preceded her in death on January 26, 2000. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker throughout her life and was a resident of Henderson for a number of years. Mrs. Johnson was a lifetime member of Macon Road Baptist Church and attended Hopewell Baptist Church in Henderson. She enjoyed reading and preparing food for her family.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by two daughters, Linda Hankins (Horace) of Senatobia, MS, Audrey King of Henderson; her son, Sammy R. Johnson of Henderson; her brother, Cecil Bryan of Collierville; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Casketbearers were family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the Hopewell Church in Sweetlips, Tennessee or Macon Road Baptist Church, 11015 U.S. Highway 64, Arlington, TN 38002.
