Thelma Louise Morrisson Ragland, age 90, resident of Collierville and wife of the late Alfred Eugene Ragland, Sr., departed this life Thursday evening, April 8, 2015 at the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Ragland were conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday, April 11th at the Advent Presbyterian Church in Arlington with Pastor Chris Hodges officiating. Interment followed in the Arlington City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Ragland was born June 29, 1924 in Arlington, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bailey Morrisson and Mary Stringfellow Morrisson. She received her education at Bolton High School and was married for 59 years to Alfred Eugene Ragland, Sr., who preceded her in death on April 13, 2000. Mrs. Ragland was of the Christian faith and enjoyed gardening. She was the President & Treasurer of Ragland Rentals, Inc., a real estate company she founded in 1964 which continues today.
Mrs. Ragland is survived by two daughters, Tina Rowe (Tony) of Sedalia, CO, Diane Harper (Craig) of Collierville; her sister, Velma Bryant of Knoxville; her brother, Roy Morrisson of Bartlett; four grandchildren, Jeanine Herrman (Fred) of Birmingham, AL, Brandon Daughtry of St. Petersburg, FL, Michael Ragland of Memphis, Scott Harper (Christie) of Clarksville; and her great granddaughter, Meredith Harper.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Alfred Eugene Ragland, Jr.; and five brothers, Floyd Morrisson, Alfred Morrisson, Richard Morrisson, John P. Morrisson and Hartwell Morrisson and one sister Elizabeth Wilson.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Scott Harper, Tony Rowe, Keith Stiles, and Cecil Booker.
Honorary casketbearers were Michael Ragland, Roy Morrisson and Craig Harper.
