THEO CHANDLER FLEMING

July 22, 1921 — October 16, 2008

THEO CHANDLER FLEMING, a resident of the Hickory Withe Community and wife of the late David A. Fleming, died Thursday evening, October 16, 2008 at the Galloway Healthcare Center. She was 87 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Private Graveside Services for Mrs. Chandler's family members were conducted Monday, October 20th with the Rev. Carl Meyer, Pastor of the Oakland First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Memory Hill Gardens Cemetery on Germantown Parkway. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.

Mrs. Fleming was born in Shelby County on July 22, 1921. She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. and Dollie Mae Chandler. She was educated in the Shelby County Public School System and was a graduate of the Germantown High School.

Mrs. Fleming was of the Baptist Faith and was a homemaker throughout her life. She was the wife of the late David Adolph Fleming who preceded her in death on June 9, 1973. She was a longtime resident of Shelby and Fayette Counties and will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother.

Survivors of Mrs. Fleming include her daughter, Barbara F. Gibson of Hickory Withe; two sons, David A. Fleming of Eads and William E. Fleming, Sr. of Grand Junction; her sister, Eva Brewer of Columbia, TN; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two grandsons.
