Thomas Riley Hamilton

Thomas Riley Hamilton, age 70, resident of Oakland, United States Navy Veteran and husband of the late Kathy A. Hamilton, departed this life Wednesday, October 18 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Services of Remembrance with Military Honors for Mr. Hamilton were conducted at 1 P.M. Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Jason Moore officiating. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Hamilton was born on February 6, 1947 in Castor, Louisiana. He graduated from the Winnfield Senior High School in Winnfield, Louisiana.  Mr. Hamilton was of the Baptist Faith and served his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed operating his HAM radio to talk to others across the world and he was a member of the Shelby County Model Airplane Helicopter Club. Mr. Hamilton was an avid reader and gardener.

Mr. Hamilton is survived by his sons, Jeffery T. Hamilton of Oakland, TN, Patrick W. Hamilton of Oakland, TN, Rusty Hamilton (Kelly) of Baton Rouge, LA, Thomas R. Hamilton, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA; his brother, Joe Hamilton (Barbara) of Lafayette, LA; his sisters, Patricia Wicker (Hank) of Prairieville, LA, Ruby Anne Duconge’ (Karl) of Springs, TX; his grandchildren, Sydney Hamilton, Randee Vigee; sisters-in-law, Allison Aumiller, Robyn Valdez; nieces, Savannah Marie Vines, Carissa Hamilton-Toups; and nephews, Karl Duconge’ Jr., Tyler Vines, Michael Valdez, Jr., John Thomas Aumiller III and Kristopher Duconge’.

He was preceded in death by his wife who he married September 1, 1979, Kathy A. Hamilton; his parents, Ben and Nita Harvill Hamilton; and his brother, Ben Hamilton.
