Thomas Martin "Tom" Honnen, Sr.

November 28, 1946 — January 19, 2013

Thomas Martin (Tom) Honnen, Sr., resident of Bartlett with extended family members and friends in Fayette County and restaurant manager for the O’Charley’s Restaurant Corporation in Memphis went to see his Heavenly Father on Saturday morning, January 19, 2013 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett. He was 66 years of age and died following a brief illness.

Services of Remembrance with Military Honors for Mr. Honnen were conducted at 7 P.M. Monday, January 21st at the Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett. Officiating Ministers were Rev. John Nix and Rev. Scott Benjamin of the Refuge Church in Lakeland. Interment Services were at 11 A.M. Friday, January 25th in the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Germantown. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Honnen was born November 28, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents, George B.B. Honnen, Sr. and Edith A Yhlman Honnen. He was married September 10, 1966 to the former Adella Hoffman, who survives. He was employed as a restaurant manager for the O’Charley’s Restaurant Corporation in Memphis until his recent illness.

Mr. Honnen served his country in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam Period. Mr. Honnen was a Christian and family-oriented person who enjoyed cooking, baking and fishing.  Mr. Honnen was involved with Boy Scout activities throughout his life and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan.

In addition to his wife of 46 years, Mr. Honnen is survived by his daughter, Kim Lieske (Dave) of Bartlett; two sons, Tom Honnen, Jr. (Kim) of Burton, MI, Sean Honnen (Michelle) of Bartlett; two brothers, Fred Honnen of Farmingdale, MA, Lee Honnen of Douglasville, PA; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Michael Lieske, Trevor Lieske, Ben Giannini, Dave Lieske, Tom Honnen and Sean Honnen.
