Todd Norton

James “Todd” Norton, age 49, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and devoted husband and loving father, passed from this world to his eternal home on Friday, March 12, 2021.

Todd was born August 24, 1971 in Meridian, Mississippi, the son of Jim and Debbie McQuary Norton. He was a 1990 graduate of Kingsbury High School in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated from Tennessee Fire Service and Code Enforcement in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. He was employed with the Somerville Fire Department, EMA and with Data Network Systems in Memphis as a logistics manager. He loved the outdoors and spent many days fishing and hunting. He also had an unwavering loyalty to Alabama Football (Roll Tide!) and attended Kirk Baptist Church near Collierville, Tennessee. Todd was never at a loss for a story to tell and never met a stranger. Many lives were touched by his call to service, his heart for helping and his compassion.

Todd leaves behind his wife who he married February 2, 2017, Diane Parks Norton; his daughter, Olivia Dallas Norton of Cleveland, TN; his stepdaughter, Kayleigh Victoria Jones of Lakeland, TN; two stepsons, Daniel McCoy Kelley of Fort Leonard Wood, MO and William Grayson Kelley of Oakland, TN; his parents, Jim and Debbie Norton of Hickory Withe, TN; and many friends who are willing to live their life to honor and preserve his memory.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Bonnie McQuary; his paternal grandparents, Joy and Bob Norton; and his special companion, his chocolate lab, Gauge.

A Celebration of Life Service for Todd was held at 7 P.M. Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Thomas Foy, pastor of Kirk Baptist Church, officiating.
