Tommy Herbert Holland

October 16, 1944 — January 31, 2016

Tommy Herbert Holland, age 71, resident of Memphis and United States Army Veteran, departed this life Sunday evening, January 31, 2016 at his residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Holland were conducted at 1 P.M. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with David Looney, pastor of the Ellendale Church of Christ in Bartlett, officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Holland was born October 16, 1944 in Memphis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Holland and Dorris Griffin Holland. He was a graduate of Humes High School in Memphis and was a lifelong resident of the Memphis area. He served his country in the United States Army and was employed as a printer for Skill Printing in Memphis before his retirement. Mr. Holland was of the Church of Christ faith and enjoyed music, fishing, tinkering with mechanics, “front porch sitting” and special times with his family.

Mr. Holland is survived by two daughters, Dora Andello (Joey) of Bartlett, Cheryl Holland of Memphis; his sister, Patsy Goudy (Von) of Hickory Valley; four brothers, Bobby Holland (Janice) of Munford, Rusty Holland (Sue) of Texas, Billy Holland of Laconia, Johnny Holland of Memphis; and five grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Brandon, Desirae and Davin. He also leaves Norleen Holland of Memphis.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Rusty Holland, Bobby Holland, Billy Holland, Johnny Holland, Joey Andello and Von Goudy.
