Travis O'Dell Shaw, age 78, resident of Holly Springs, Mississippi and retired logger, departed this life Thursday morning, April 9, 2015 at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab in Holly Springs.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Shaw will be conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, April 11th at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Saturday, April 11th at the church. Interment will follow in the Laws Hill Cemetery in Holly Springs. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Shaw was born August 18, 1936 in Holly Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, John S. Shaw and Rose Shaw. He was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of the North Mississippi area. He served as a logger for a number of years before his retirement and enjoyed food and his dogs.
Mr. Shaw leaves a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 2641 Laws Hill Road, Holly Springs, MS 38635.
