Verner Louise James Druien, longtime resident of the Moscow Community, retired Registered Nurse and beloved wife of Arthur Druien, Jr., departed this life Monday evening, June 23, 2014 at her residence. She was 83 years of age and died following an extended illness.
A Gathering of Family and Friends of Mrs. Druien was held 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. Saturday, June 28th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. A Private Family Interment followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Memphis. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Druien was born January 14, 1931 in Taylor, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Verner Hugh James and Louise Scott James. She was married March 2, 1952 to Arthur Druien, Jr., a former City of Moscow Judge, who survives. Mrs. Druien served as a Registered Nurse for the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Memphis for a number of years before her retirement.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Druien is survived by her daughter, Mashelle D. Gibson (Jim) of Moscow; two sons, Michael L. Druien of Saulsbury and Robert H. Druien (Juli) of Collierville; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 13 year old daughter, Donna Lee Druien.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Moscow United Methodist Church, 85 LaGrange Street, Moscow, TN 38057.
