Vicki Anita (Snider) Martin

Vicki Anita “Sunshine” Snider Martin, resident of Walls, Mississippi with extended family members throughout Fayette County and wife of Randy Lee Martin departed this life Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi where she had been a patient for five weeks. She was 55 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Martin were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, July 11th at the Graveside. Interment followed in the Sardis Lake Baptist Church Cemetery near Sardis, Mississippi. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Martin was born November 3, 1957 in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Snider and Irene Bowman Snider. She received her education in the Shelby County Public School System and was a long-distance truck operator for much of her life and in recent years was employed by the Andy Frain Company who provides security for the Red Birds Stadium in Memphis.

“Sunshine” as she was known by many, was a Christian and was a lifelong resident of West Tennessee and North Mississippi. She remained an optimistic person and enjoyed her family and friends despite her illness and losses of two family members in recent months.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband, Randy Lee Martin of Walls, MS; her daughter, Amelia Amos of Memphis; her sister, Barbara Butler of Southaven, MS; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wes Besinger; her daughter, Kiesha; and her son, Josh Besinger.

Casketbearers were family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the Sardis Lake Cemetery Association, c/o Betty Young, 24709 Highway 35, Sardis, MS 38666.
