Virgil Wayne Roland

Virgil Wayne Roland, age 70, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and husband of Bobbi Bartlett Roland, departed this life Monday evening, January 30, 2023 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville, Tennessee.

Wayne was born September 29, 1952 in Dickson, Tennessee, the son of the late Edward Franklin “Ed” Roland and Exie V. Miller Graham. He was employed as a facilities director before his retirement. Wayne was an avid golfer and a dog lover.

Mr. Roland is survived by his wife of 26 years, Bobbi Roland; his daughter, Rachel Garner (Rusty); his son, Stephen Roland (Cheryle); his stepson, Dustin Birdsong (Emily); two brothers, Odell Roland (Emily) and Michael Roland; three grandchildren, Jenna Roland, Calli Roland and Gentry Roland; two step-grandchildren, Jordan Birdsong and Hayes Birdsong; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Morgan.

Memorial Services for Mr. Roland were held at 1 P.M. Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Pastor Kenneth "Ken" Culver officiating.
