Virginia Irene Riggins Manning, resident of Olive Branch, Mississippi, former resident of Fayette County and wife of the late Robert L. Manning, departed this life Sunday morning, April 10, 2016 at the Riverdale Assisted Living in Memphis.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Manning were conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, March 13, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. James L. Ratliff, pastor of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Olive Branch, Mississippi, officiating. Interment followed in the Union Cemetery at Laconia. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Manning was born in Clarksville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Francis Riggins and the late Ernie Waters Riggins. She was a graduate of Clarksville High School Class of 1943 and was married to Robert L. Manning who preceded her in death o January 15, 1989. She was a former resident of Hudsonville, Michigan and moved to Fayette County in 1987. Mrs. Manning was a member of the Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Laconia and was a homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed working in her yard and playing the piano.
Mrs. Manning is survived by two daughters, Beverly Rowe of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Bonnie Calvin and her husband, Daniel, of Fenton, Michigan; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
