Lois Virginia Hardy Ragland, age 91, resident of Moscow, Tennessee and wife of the late Garfield Isome “Buddy” Ragland, departed this life Tuesday morning, January 9, 2024 at Gallaway Health and Rehabilitation in Gallaway, Tennessee.
Virginia was born June 20, 1932 in Tennessee and was married January 6, 1988 to Garfield Isome “Buddy” Ragland who preceded her in death on April 1, 2010. Mrs. Ragland was employed as a cosmetologist and worked at Troxel in Moscow for many years before her retirement. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Moscow.
Mrs. Ragland is survived by her daughter, Ruby Sylvia Aubuchon; her son, Ronnie Franklin Joyner; her brother, Gordan William “Bill” Hardy; seven grandchildren, Michelle Schoolcraft, Vance Prewitt, Tara Prewitt, Melinda Prewitt, Clay Joyner, Christy McDonald and Nicole Earnest-Tice; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Zelma Lorrine Hardy and two daughters, Clara Diane Janes who died August 5, 2010 and Tracy Virginia Leatherwood who died August 5, 1993.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Ragland were held at 2 P.M. Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Mike Hollaway, pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Rossville, Tennessee, officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery at Moscow.
