Virginia "Jenny" Ruth (Kendrick) Pratt

Virginia Ruth “Jenny” Kendrick Pratt, widow of Joseph J. Pratt, departed this life Sunday afternoon, February 15, 2015 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville. She was 89 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Pratt were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, February 19th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Warren Adams, administrator for the National HealthCare Center in Somerville, officiating. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Pratt was born September 10, 1925, in Pike County, Kentucky, one of fourteen children of Valaria and William Drayton Kendrick. She was married June 17, 1947 to Joseph J. Pratt, who preceded her in death. She was a long-time resident of Memphis and of Douglas, Georgia before moving to the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.  Mrs. Pratt was an accomplished quilter and gardener and was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Memphis.

Mrs. Pratt is survived by her three children, JoAnn Pratt Danna of Douglas, GA; Richard Pratt (Durenda) of Oakland; and James Pratt (Molly) of Nashville. She especially treasured her three grandchildren, Nick Danna of Athens, GA, Richard Pratt, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV and Kendrick Pratt of Nashville. She is also survived by her sister, May Lawler of Louisville, KY and her brother, John Kendrick of Doylestown, OH.
