Virginia Lee "Ginny" Peterson Lawler, age 77, resident of Greenback, Tennessee and wife of the late Gilbert “Gib” Lawler, departed this life Sunday morning, February 4, 2018 at her daughter’s residence in Oakland, Tennessee.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Lawler will be conducted at 3 P.M. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Loudon, Tennessee.
Mrs. Lawler was born May 3, 1940 in Aurora, Illinois, the daughter of the late Stanley Randall Peterson and Bettye Frances Walker Peterson. She was married to Gilbert “Gib” Lawler who preceded her in death. She attended the University of Michigan and was employed as a medical and veterinary lab technician for 42 years before her retirement. Mrs. Lawler will be remembered as a caring, compassionate lady with a servant’s heart and was a devoted Christian and member of the Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Loudon, Tennessee. She lived in Illinois until 1975 and was a former resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Edmond, Oklahoma, Indio, California, Luddock, Texas and most recently in Greenback, Tennessee.
Mrs. Lawler is survived by her daughter, Nancy Krahl (Scott) of Oakland, TN; two sons, Daniel Garbelman (Jolianna Wright) of Oklahoma City, OK, Brad Garbelman (Susan) of Oklahoma City, OK; two stepsons, Scott Lawler (Deena) of San Antonio, TX, Martin Lawler of Showlow, AZ; her sister, Vicki Gonzalez (Angel) of Clearwater, FL; five grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Sarah, Aaron (Marlaina), Annie; two great-grandchildren, John, Victoria; and one step grandson, Dillon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
