Walter Lee Davis

Walter Lee Davis, resident of Memphis, native of the Somerville Community and United States Navy Veteran, departed this life Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Poplar Point HealthCare Center in Memphis. He was 80 years of age.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Davis were conducted at the Graveside at 10 A.M. Tuesday, September 16th with Rev. Kent Bailey of Collierville officiating. Interment followed in the Mount Pisgah Cemetery near Somerville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Davis was born October 8, 1933 in Somerville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Faithy Davis and Ruby Davis. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and served his country in the United States Navy as a young person. He was employed as a customer service representative in the petroleum industry for a number of years before his retirement. Mr. Davis was a lifelong resident of the Fayette and Shelby County areas.
Mr. Davis is survived by his niece, Diane Thornburg of Memphis and his nephew, Richard Powell of Jackson, Tennessee.
