Wanza (Brint) Boswell

July 25, 1918 — September 8, 2014

Wanza Brint Boswell, age 96, resident of Bolivar, retired teacher and wife of the late Eugene Cannon Boswell, Jr., departed this life Monday evening, September 8, 2014 at the Pine Meadows Healthcare Center in Bolivar.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Boswell were conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, September 10th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Angela Harris, pastor of the Bolivar First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Boswell was born July 25, 1918 in Hornsby, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Mason Brint and Sadie Rogers Brint. She received her education in the Hardeman County Public School System and was a graduate of Middleton High School. She continued her education and received her Master's Degree from the University of Memphis.

Mrs. Boswell was married April 30, 1943 to Eugene Cannon Boswell, Jr., retired from the Fayette County Board of Education Maintenance Division. Mr. Boswell preceded her in death on February 3, 1975. She was a member of the Tennessee Teachers Association and served as a teacher for Fayette County and Hardeman County for 42 years before her retirement. She was a former member of Somerville First United Methodist Church and in recent years was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Bolivar where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. She will be remembered as an avid reader who enjoyed writing calligraphy.

Mrs. Boswell is the last surviving relative of her family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Clenneth Mason Brint and her nephew, Jeffery M. Brint.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were George Brint, Calvin Howell, Barrett Stevens, George Mitchell, Jerry Wilhite and Gerald Shelton.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Somerville City Cemetery, P.O. Box 909, Somerville, TN 38068.
