Warren Teel, age 73, longtime resident of the Mt. Pleasant, Mississippi Community, retired carpenter and husband of Genelle Teel departed this life Saturday, September 15, 2012 at his residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Teel were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Carey Chapel Baptist Church near Mt. Pleasant, Mississippi. Interment followed in the Carey Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by the Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Piperton Office.
Mr. Teel was born June 3, 1939 in Mt. Pleasant, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis F. Teel and Donnie Smith Teel. He received his education in the Mt. Pleasant and Slayden Public School System and lived in the North Mississippi area all of his life. He married the former Genelle Bryan on February 20, 1959, who survives. He was a carpenter most of his life before his retirement in 1990.
Mr. Teel was a member of the Carey Chapel Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant and served his country in the National Guard in earlier years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood crafting, family gatherings, playing dominoes and caring for his yard. He served as the caretaker for the Carey Chapel Cemetery for many years.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, Mr. Teel is survived by three daughters, Becky Murchison (Ronnie) of Harmontown, MS, Norma Shaw (Monty) of Law's Hills in Marshall County, MS, Gina Feathers (Grant) of Mt. Pleasant, MS; his son, Wayne Teel (Dianna) of Mt. Pleasant, MS; his sister, Lola Dickerson of Holly Springs, MS; and eight grandchildren, Casey Shaw, Jennifer Campbell, Curt Teel, Kayla Murchison, Jessie Teel, Austin Feathers, Kelly Teel and Josh Feathers.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Carey Chapel Baptist Church, 170 Carey Chapel Road, Red Banks, MS 38661.
