Marle Wayde Edwards, resident of the Oakland Community, US Army Veteran and retired sales representative died Thursday afternoon, June 28, 2012 at the Methodist Hospital in Germantown where he had been a patient for nine days. He was 72 years of age and died following a brief illness.
At the request of Mr. Edwards, all services and interment will be private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Edwards was born June 13, 1940 in Nettleton, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winston Edwards and George Lucille Hannah Edwards. Mr. Edwards was employed for many years as a sales representative and retired from the Edmonds Materials Company in Cordova four years ago. He served in the United States Army as a young person and was a Christian. He was a former resident of Shelby County before moving to the Oakland Community ten years ago.
Mr. Edwards’ survivors include his daughter, Allison Edwards of Collierville and his grandson, Chandler Edwards of Collierville.
The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
