Wayne Burnice Campbell

Wayne Burnice Campbell, age 69, resident of Oakland and husband of Margie Russell Campbell, departed this life Wednesday afternoon, November 25, 2015 at his residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Campbell were conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Drew Murphy, pastor of the Fayette Baptist Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Campbell was born November 3, 1946 in Memphis. He was a graduate of Frayser High School Class of 1965 and was a longtime resident of the Memphis area. He was married June 5, 1964 to the former Margie Russell. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell moved to the Oakland Community four years ago and he was a member of the Fayette Baptist Church in Somerville. He was the owner of Wayne's Excavating Service for a number of years. Fishing and bowling were favorite pastimes.

Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margie Russell Campbell of Oakland; his daughter, Shelly Campbell Baker of Oakland; three sons, Keith Campbell (Leelynn) of Bolivar, Dennis Campbell (Tommye) of Brighton, Troy Campbell (Amanda) of Bartlett; his sister, Jerrie Bowen of Humboldt; two brothers, Floyd Washington “Buddy” Campbell, Jr. of Sardis, MS, Arthur Gene Campbell of Memphis; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandsons.

Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Washington Campbell, Sr. and Thelma Irene Norwood Campbell and two grandchildren.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Keith Campbell, Dennis Campbell, Troy Campbell, Brandon Baker, Chase Campbell and Colby Campbell.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Fayette Baptist Church, 12515 Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068.
