Wayne Rike Jordan, resident of the Williston Community and retired employee for the Methodist Hospital Systems in Somerville died Thursday morning, May 24, 2012 at the Americare Hospital in Memphis. He was 70 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Jordan were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, May 31st at the Graveside with Bro. Loyd Shelton of the New Hope Baptist Church in Rossville officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Jordan was born September 10, 1941 in Somerville. He was preceded in death by his parents, James John Jordan and Virginia Rike Jordan. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a 1959 Graduate of the Fayette County High School. He served in the Tennessee Army National Guard in earlier years and was a member of the Williston Methodist Church.

He was a lifelong resident of Fayette County and his interests included fishing, hunting, outdoor activities and refinishing wood products. In earlier years, he was employed by the City Concrete Company of Oakland and the Sanders Trucking Company in Memphis.

Mr. Jordan is survived by his sister, Mary Nell Jordan Camburn (Guy) of Walnut, MS; two nieces, one nephew, numerous cousins, his sister-in-law, Wanda Jordan of Somerville; and a special friend, Gary Day of Somerville.

Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his brother, James Carol Jordan, who died January 1, 2010.
