W. DARRELL ELROD

May 26, 1975 — January 11, 2010

WILLIAM DARRELL ELROD, a resident of Highway 64 East in Fayette County and Self-Employed Cable Installer died Monday afternoon, January 11, 2010 at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis. He was 34 years of age and died unexpectedly.

Funeral services for Mr. Elrod were conducted at 1 P.M. Friday, January 15th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Willie Raines of New Albany, Mississippi, former Pastor of the Faith Church of God in Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in the Hillville Community of Haywood County near Whiteville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.

Mr. Elrod was born in Brownsville, Tennessee on May 26, 1975 the son of Ted M. Elrod and Linda Watson Elrod.

He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a lifelong resident of the Fayette County area.

He was married to the former Jennifer Freeman on August 21, 2008, who survives.

He was the Owner of Elrod Underground Cable Installation Service and was a member of the Mount Moriah Baptist Church near Whiteville.

He will be remembered for his love of outdoors and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast throughout his life.

He enjoyed special times with his family, mechanical repairs and caring for his animals.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Elrod is survived by his parents, Ted and Linda Elrod of Whiteville; two daughters, Triston Elrod of West Virginia and Terri Lynn Elrod of Atoka; his step-son, Ethen Marlar of Stanton; his sister, Sherry Lynn Elrod of Somerville and his brother, Ken Elrod of Saginaw, MI.

Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Michael Elrod, Cole Fairchild, Donald Haase, Brian Raines, Brad Thompson and Corey Thompson.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
