Wilburn Thomas "Tommy" Muntz

Wilburn Thomas “Tommy” Muntz, age 68, resident of Arlington and husband of the late Mary Jean Muntz, departed this life Tuesday morning, September 20, 2016 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Muntz were conducted at 11 A.M. Sunday , September 25, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Robert Muntz, Mr. Muntz’s brother, officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed in the Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Muntz was born April 18, 1948 in Memphis. He moved with his family at an early age to Texas and received his education in the Dallas, Texas School System. He was married for 21 years to Mary Jean Muntz and he served his country in the United States Army. He was employed as a truck operator for a number of years before his retirement and enjoyed gardening, fishing, raising miniature poodles and his family states he was a great shade tree mechanic.

Mr. Muntz is survived by his daughter, Tammie Michelle Muntz of Greenville, Texas; his son, Wilburn “Tommy” Muntz, Jr. (Sherri) of Cleburne, Texas; two brothers, Robert E. Muntz (Sandra) of Arlington, Tennessee, Richard Muntz (Brenda) of Laconia, Tennessee; his nephew, Donald Muntz of Arlington, Tennessee; and two grandsons, Christopher Muntz of Dallas, Texas and Dustin Muntz of Dallas, Texas.

He was preceded in deeath by his parents, William Edmond Muntz and Ona Mae Martin Muntz.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Jeremy Slater, Donald Muntz, Kenneth Grooms, Dewayne Hayes and Tommy Muntz.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
