William D. "Bill" Garrison

July 1, 1946 — April 21, 2025

Drummonds, Tennessee

William Delmer "Bill" Garrison, age 78, of Drummonds, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Born July 1, 1946, in Brickeys, Arkansas, Bill was the son of Fred and Ruth Garrison. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy Reserve in Helena, Arkansas from 1966 to 1972, working as a diesel mechanic. After his honorable discharge, Bill continued his mechanical work for over four decades, primarily with Fullen Dock Warehouse and Lehman-Roberts Paving Company.

In 2009, Bill embraced retirement and settled into the good life—cold Bud Lights in hand, watching black-and-white cowboy shows, and enjoying the things he loved most: Arkansas Razorbacks football, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing pool, and especially barbecuing by the pool for his kids and grandkids every summer.

On April 26, 1987, Bill married Lisa (Morris) Garrison in Red Bay, Alabama. Together they built a life full of laughter, love, and family.

Bill is survived by his wife, Lisa Garrison; his daughter, Christy Sonderman; his siblings, Fred (Terry) Garrison and Stella (Jimmy) Owens; and his seven cherished grandchildren, Alexandria Wood, Jennifer (Scott) Williams, Savannah Scott, Mykael Sonderman, Tanner Sonderman, Brylee Garrison and Paislee Garrison.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruth Garrison; children, Rachel (Scott) Garrison and Matthew Garrison; and his siblings, Marjorie Jenne, George Garrison, Becky Morris and Larry Garrison.

Bill will be remembered for his big heart, strong work ethic, and the way he brought people together—especially around a grill and a game.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Tanner Sonderman, Chris Huff, Ronnie Carlson, Wes Gibbs, David Wood and Todd Williams. The honorary pallbearers will be Keith Morris, Billy Joe Hardin, Boyce Wilson, Bobby White and Dan Johns.

A visitation for Bill will be from 1 until 2 P.M. Friday, April 25, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64 with Bro. Fred Garrison of Harmony Baptist Church in West Helena, Arkansas, officiating.
