William Thomas Kimbriel

February 16, 1938 — January 29, 2008

WILLIAM T. KIMBRIEL, a resident of the Somerville Community and retired employee of Cordova Automotive, died at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at the National Health Care Center in Somerville where he had been a patient for one month. He was 69 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Kimbriel were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Ed Nix, Pastor of the Fisherville First Baptist Church, officiating. Special remarks were given by his brother, W.O. Kimbriel of Gloster,Ms. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Hwy. 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home - West Chapel of Oakland.
Mr. Kimbriel was born February 16, 1938, in Vance, MS, the son of the late Willie A. Kimbriel and the late Estelle Beachfield Kimbriel. He was educated in the Mississippi public school system and moved at an early age with his family to the Memphis area. He was employed as a mechanic for Cordova Automotive for a number of years before his retirement in 2005.
He was a resident of Shelby County before moving to Fayette County to be near family members. In earlier years, Mr. Kimbriel enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a Christian and was married September 8, 2005 to the former Margaret Cathryn Murray, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Kimbriel is survived by three daughters, Nancy Liberton, Beverly Kimbriel, both of Memphis, Margaret Vaughn of Collierville; four sons, Billy Kimbriel, Jr., David Kimbriel, both of Memphis, Richard Murray of Crystal City, MO, Roger Murray of Loretto, TN; two sisters, Francis Browning, Catherine May, both of Greenville, MS; one brother, W.O. Kimbriel of Gloster, MS; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Billy Kimbriel, David Kimbriel, Christopher Wright, David Vaughn, Bobby Murray and Jim Murray.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the charity or organization of the donor's choice.
