William Franklin Kirkpatrick, age 75, resident of Somerville and husband of Cheryl Ann Henley Kirkpatrick, departed this life Wednesday morning, February 1, 2017 at the National Healthcare Center in Somerville.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Kirkpatrick were conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Dr. Clinton Buck, pastor of the Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Laconia, officiating. Special music was provided by Sue Henley, soloist. Interment followed in the Union Cemetery at Laconia. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Kirkpatrick was born November 15, 1941 in Gallatin, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph Kirkpatrick and Ruby Mae Franklin Kirkpatrick. He was a graduate of Father Ryan High School Class of 1959 and was married November 17, 1961 to Cheryl Ann Henley Kirkpatrick. Mr. Kirkpatrick was a resident of Southaven, Mississippi for 11 years before moving to Fayette County in 1979. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was employed as an HVAC technician for 38 years before his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed golfing, reading, watching NASCAR and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Mr. Kirkpatrick was a "lifetime member of The Hut" and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Kirkpatrick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cheryl Ann Henley Kirkpatrick of Somerville, TN; his daughter, Kristin K. Hamilton (Brett) of Austin, TX; his son, Kyle K. Kirkpatrick (Brandy) of Williston, TN; two sisters, Barbara J. Kirkpatrick of Florida, Katie Kirkpatrick of Detroit, MI; and four grandchildren, Kaleb Kirkpatrick of Williston, TN, Kooper Kirkpatrick of Williston, TN, Luke Hamilton of Austin, TX and Lily Hamilton of Austin, TX.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary C. Malone, Judith E. Brennan and his brother, Lee A. “Tony” Kirkpatrick.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Mike Cannon, Dale Gray, Brett Hamilton, Byron Henley, Harry Wiles and Josh Wiles. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Bennington, Byron Black and Dr. Raymond Hawkins.
