William Frank “Bill” Lunsford, resident of Lawrenceburg, TN and former resident of the Somerville Community died Tuesday afternoon, June 14, 2011 at the St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville where he had been a patient for four days. He was 49 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Services honoring the life of Mr. Lunsford were conducted at 3 P.M. Sunday, June 19th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Walter German of Jackson, former pastor of the Somerville First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.
A native of Jackson, TN, Mr. Lunsford was born October 30, 1961. He was a resident of Fayette County in earlier years and was a graduate of Fayette Academy in Somerville where he was a member of the Fayette Academy Football Team.
Mr. Lunsford was employed in the Trucking Industry for most of his life and was a Long Distance Truck Operator for the Sharp Trucking Company in Tennessee for a number of years before retiring for health reasons. He was a Methodist and enjoyed sports throughout his life.
As a young person he made frequent trips to Canada with his parents, Ruth and Gene Lunsford of Somerville, during the years that his father was associated with the Ames Plantation as a Bird Dog Trainer. Mr. Lunsford will be remembered for his love of good food and fellowshipping with his many truck driver friends. He received much pleasure over the years from his St. Bernard dogs.
Mr. Lunsford is survived by his wife, Shari Lunsford of Lawrenceburg and his parents, Ruth and Gene Lunsford of Somerville.
