William “Bill” Victor Moore, age 75, resident of Somerville, Tennessee, retired supervisor with the Shelby County Government and husband of Ruth Ann Rodgers Moore, departed this life Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Moore were conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel with Elder Timothy Guess and Elder Bobby Poe officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery in the Williston Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Moore was born October 12, 1942 in Jackson, Tennessee, the son of the late Joseph Douglas Moore and Lizzie Ruth Powell Moore. He received his education in the Madison County School District in Jackson, Tennessee and attended Lambuth University. He was most at home outside and enjoying nature’s beauty at the farm. He served as the guidepost for his children and grandchildren, always there to provide words of gentle encouragement and advice. He cherished his church and the Primitive Baptist doctrine and will be greatly missed by his church family. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for all the kind words, thoughts and prayers that have been bestowed on them from all of their friends and loved ones.
Mr. Moore is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ruth Ann Rodgers Moore of Somerville, TN; his daughter, Cindi Landry (Ken) of Somerville, TN; his sons, Douglas Moore (Cindy) of Cleveland, TN and Captain Wayne Arguin (Andrea Bellis Crop) of New Orleans, LA; his sisters, Polly Spencer (Carlo) of Jackson, TN, Ann McCaghren (Mike) of Jackson, TN, Judy Fleming (Del) of Murray, KY and Jo Lois Dykes (Jim) of Long Beach, MS; sisters-in-law, Sandy Haddad (Charles) of Somerville, TN and Emily Smith (Bill) of Arlington, TN; and seven grandchildren, Currie Landry, Will Landry, Sullivan Landry, Briley Moore, Jackson Moore, Conner Arguin and Carson Arguin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Douglas Moore and Lizzie Ruth Powell Moore.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Collierville Primitive Baptist Church, 339 East Poplar Avenue, Collierville, TN 38017.
