William "Bill" Dallas Perkins

William Dallas "Bill" Perkins, age 82, resident of Oakland and husband of Catherine Hearne Perkins, departed this life Saturday morning, February 20, 2016 at the Kings Daughters & Sons Home in Bartlett.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Perkins were conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Keith Brown of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Bartlett, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Perkins was born February 22, 1933 in Memphis. He received his education in the Memphis City School System and served his country as a young person in the United States Air Force. He was married August 26, 1954 to the former Catherine A. Hearne. Mr. Perkins was employed as a maintenance mechanic for E.I. Dupont before his retirement and was a lifelong resident of the West Tennessee area. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Arlington Congregation and enjoyed camping, boating and airplanes.

Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife of 61 years, Catherine A. Hearne Perkins of Oakland; three daughters, Donna Perkins Blizzard (Randy) of Arlington, Rhonda Perkins Lunsford (Bob) of Oakland, Elizabeth Perkins Pruitt (Gene) of Marion, NC; his son, William David Perkins (Martha) of Oakland; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William David Perkins, Jr. and Clara Louise Yates Perkins and his sister, Dolly Hood Manuel.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Bobby Lunsford, Daniel Lunsford, Matthew Lunsford, Phillip Blizzard, Michael Blizzard and James Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers included Russell Rand.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Arlington Congregation, 7800 U.S. Highway 64, Oakland, TN 38060.
