William Morris "Hot" Graham, age 93, resident of Somerville and husband of the late Lorraine Johns Graham, departed this life Tuesday morning, August 23, 2016 at his residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Graham were conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Dr. Timothy "Ted" Dennis officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Graham was born December 5, 1922 in Somerville. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and served his country in the United States Navy during the World War II Period. He was married January 30, 1943 to Lorraine Johns Graham and he was employed with Redball Trucking Company in Memphis, ET & WNC Trucking Company for over 30 years before his retirement. Mr. Graham was a lifelong resident of the Somerville area and he was a member of the Somerville First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, gardening, traveling, preparing food and his family states he was a great dancer. Special times with his family and friends and maintaining the Rehobeth Cemetery were an important parts of Mr. Graham’s life.
Mr. Graham is survived by his son, Billy Johns Graham (Marsha) of Marion, Arkansas; his sister, Doris Graham Pace of Maryville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, William Nicholas Graham, Kimberly Barber, Jennifer Elizabeth Graham; four great grandchildren, Christopher Nicholas Graham, Austin McFarland, Carson McFarland, Addyson Barber; and his beloved companion, Laverne Ozier of Somerville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Johns Graham who died July 10, 2000; his parents, Albert Jackson Graham and Croday Tisick Graham; three sisters, Ruby Atkeison, Gladys Graham, Bonnie Graham Newby; and five brothers, Herman Graham, Earl Graham, Gordon Graham, Alton Graham and Clinton Graham.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Dennis Read, John Zawad, David Newby, Wesley Parks, W.E. Graham, Jr. and Hampton Cude. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Graham, Michael Graham, Jimmy Graham, Alan Sanders, Bobby Miller, Jimmy Spencer, Jerry Graham and Earl Jackson Graham.
