Wilma Ruth Clemmer Edge, resident of the Moscow Community and wife of Carl L. Edge departed this life Wednesday morning, December 11, 2013 at her residence. She was 88 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Edge were conducted at 10 A.M. Friday, December 13th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Tom Davis, Caris Hospice Chaplain officiating. Interment followed in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bartlett. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Edge was born May 31, 1925 in Tiplersville, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Holburt Clemmer and Maggie May Mannon Clemmer. She received her education in the Walnut, Mississippi Public School System and was married February 12, 1944 to Carl L. Edge, who survives.
Mrs. Edge was a devoted wife and companion to her husband for 69 years. Mr. and Mrs. Edge traveled extensively throughout the United States during Mr. Edge’s working career. They had been residents of the Moscow Community since 1989.
Mrs. Edge was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Memphis and will be remembered as a person who enjoyed flowers, music and preparing food for her family. She was a very talented and creative person who enjoyed numerous crafts.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Edge is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Marsha G. McCoy of Moscow; three grandchildren, Andrew McCoy, Mark McCoy, Sherri McCoy; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald L. Edge; her sister, Lillie Reynolds; and her brother, Wayne Clemmer.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Andrew McCoy, Mark McCoy, Cole McCoy, Justin McCoy, Curtis Vaughn and Cecil Edge.
