Wilma Kathy (Jones) Luttrell

November 6, 1948 — May 28, 2016

Wilma Kathryn "Kathy" Jones Luttrell, age 67, resident of the Eads Community and wife of Ronald Smith Luttrell, departed this life Friday afternoon, May 27, 2016 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Luttrell were conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Joe Jernigan, minister of Pastoral Care and Biblical Counseling at Bellevue Baptist Church, officiating. Personal remarks were given by David Meister and Carl Meister. Interment followed in the Reaves United Methodist Church Cemetery at Middleton. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Luttrell was born November 6, 1948 in Memphis. She was a graduate of Messick High School in Memphis Class of 1966 and a graduate of Memphis State University in 1970. She was a resident of the Eads Community since 1978 and a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova. Mrs. Luttrell was married March 11, 1983 to Ronald Smith Luttrell and she was employed as a permanency specialist (adoption agent) before her retirement. Mrs. Luttrell enjoyed Bible study, playing the piano, traveling, choir and special times with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Luttrell is survived by her husband of 33 years, Ronald Smith Luttrell of Eads; three sons, David A. Meister II and his wife, Elsie, of Jacksonville, FL, Carl Meister and his wife, Amanda, of Arlington, TN, Nathan Luttrell of Eads; two stepdaughters, Donna Forte of Columbia, TN, Olivia Spoon of Columbia, TN; two sisters, Karen Johnson of Covington, TN, Glenda Webber of Eads; her brother, Matt Jones of Bartlett; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, David A. Meister I; her parents, Burton Eugene Jones and Nina Carmen Emmons Jones; and her brother, Mark Jones.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Jeromy Webber, Robert Meister, Micheal Forte, Matthew Spoon, Tom Spoon, Luke Luttrell and Jacob Meister.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Youth Villages, 3320 Brother Boulevard, Memphis, TN 38133.
