Mrs. Zola “Tubby” C. Glaze, 89, of Pace, Mississippi, native Fayette Countian and sister of Clarice Borrow of Somerville passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.
Services for Mrs. Glaze were in Cleveland, Mississippi on August 15th. Graveside Services were on Thursday afternoon, August 15th at the Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community. Local arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Glaze was born in the Warren Community of Fayette County on June 13, 1924, to the late Leland Scott Cole and the late Nora Ethel Terry Cole. She married Robert J. Glaze, Jr. on September 3, 1949. She moved to Pace, Mississippi in 1953, was a member of the Pace Baptist Church, and enjoyed teaching a Sunday School Class until the church closed in 1997. After the church’s closing, she became a member of the First Baptist Church in Cleveland, Mississippi where she was a member of J.O.Y. Sunday School Class and was also a member of the Women’s Missionary Union.
Mrs. Glaze also served as a Brownie Leader in Pace and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. More importantly, she loved her family very much, especially the babies.
Mrs. Glaze were preceded in death by husband, Robert J. Glaze, Jr.; granddaughter, Jennifer Logan; and sisters, Vivian C. Crowder and Lola C. Stoppenhagen.
Mrs. Glaze is survived by her sisters, Clarice Borrow of Somerville, TN and Myrna Pappas of Murfreesboro, TN; son, Robert J. Glaze III of Canton, MS; daughters, Janice Glaze Findley of Madison and Allison Glaze Wilson of Oxford; and grandchildren, Leanne Robinson of Brandon, Laura Katherine Logan of San Francisco, CA, Jessica Wilson of New York, and Austin Wilson of Conway, AR.
